Security cameras · New York City & Miami
Security cameras. Clarity at every angle.
Smart Installers plans and installs security camera systems for homes, residential buildings, and commercial spaces in New York City and Miami. We start with what you need to see, then coordinate camera positions, cabling, recording, and everyday access.
Plan your project
The complete installation
The details, considered together.
A considered camera plan
Entrances, shared spaces, lighting, and neighboring areas all shape the field of view. We plan for useful footage and appropriate privacy, with positions that suit the building.
Cabling and recording
Cable routes, Power over Ethernet, recorder capacity, and equipment location are considered together. Storage is sized around camera count, recording settings, and the retention period you want.
A useful handover
We configure agreed users and viewing permissions, check live and recorded footage, and walk you through finding events and exporting a clip.
Before choosing equipment
Start with the right questions.
What needs to be visible?
A broad view of a room and a useful view of someone at an entrance are different goals. Identify the events and locations that matter before choosing camera resolution or quantity.
How long should footage be kept?
Retention depends on storage, camera settings, and recording activity. Agree on a target and review the estimate with the proposed equipment; a drive size alone does not guarantee a number of days.
Who should be able to review it?
Owners, managers, and staff may need different permissions. Decide who can view, export, and administer the system, and how access will change when someone leaves.
The numbers behind the plan
Will it keep the footage you need?
Storage, recorder capacity and power. Checked together.
See how eight 4K cameras change a 30-day storage plan, why more drives do not raise a recorder’s camera limit, and when enough PoE ports still leave too little power. Our worked examples show the assumptions and calculations.
Upgrades & existing systems
Already have cameras?
We can begin with a review of the current cameras, recorder, network, and cabling. Some infrastructure may be reusable, while camera compatibility and ownership access need to be checked before a takeover or migration is proposed.
Discuss your existing systemA useful first conversation
Bring us your space.
These details help us understand the work. Share what you have when we discuss the project.
- Property location and the areas you want to cover.
- Photos of existing cameras, the recorder, and the network cabinet.
- Your preferred footage retention and who needs access.
- Any planned construction or limits on visible cabling.
A few things to know
Questions, answered.
Can I view cameras when I am away?
Remote viewing can be configured with compatible equipment and a suitable internet connection. The proposal should explain how authorized users connect and what remains available if the internet is interrupted.
Can you reuse my existing camera wiring?
Possibly. We need to inspect the cable type, condition, routes, and termination. Existing coaxial wiring is not the same as Ethernet, so reuse cannot be confirmed from camera count alone.
What determines installation cost?
Camera quantity and models, mounting access, cable routes, network or PoE upgrades, recorder storage, and work in finished spaces all affect scope. We use those details to prepare a property-specific proposal.
